I am a visual storyteller inspired by unexpected moments and grand places.
Growing up in a family of travelers and conservationists, I’ve always been drawn to exploration and nature. Early years in a darkroom, and music floating through the house stoked my creative drive, while family legends of conservation in wild places and whale songs reverberating through the ocean drew my focus to the health of our planet.
Unable to choose between scientific and creative expression, I got a degree in geology while commuting to an art school to take film classes. For years I’ve followed a winding path, with camera in hand: from commercial fishing in Alaska to studying glaciers high in the Peruvian Andes, from sailing the South Pacific to guiding wild California whitewater, and most recently to a video production company in Berkeley, CA.
These days I bounce from corporate shoots with tons of gear and crew, to minimalist kits on lonely journeys to wild places, and back to my editing station to stitch it all together. No matter the story, I seek human narrative, emotion, beauty, and purpose.
Let’s tell a story together!
